What To Know When Renting A Trash Compactor

Posted on: 26 September 2022

Do you have a project that is going to be creating a lot of waste? If so, you may want to rent a trash compactor to help ensure that you are minimizing the number of trips needed to take away a full dumpster. Here are a few things to know when renting a trash compactor.

Only Load Trash In Designated Areas

The trash compactor is going to have areas that are marked as designated loading areas. It is important that you only load trash in these marked areas to ensure that the trash compactor works properly. If you do not follow these directions, you could end up in a situation where the trash compactor malfunctions.

Know What Can And Can't Be Disposed Of

There is going to be a list of items printed on the trash compactor that should never be placed inside it. Make sure you are very familiar with these items since many of them are dangerous or combustible if disposed of improperly. Some common examples include tires, batteries, drums that contain liquids, hazardous chemicals, and asbestos. Check your local regulations to determine how to dispose of these items.

Always Allow The Trash Compactor To Finish Before Loading More Waste

It may be tempting to try and fit more trash into the trash compactor as it is operating, especially if you forgot something and are trying to fit it in there. You should always let the trash compactor go through the complete cycle before you add more trash to the unit. You run the risk of causing a malfunction by improperly loading the trash compactor during the compacting process.

Never Enter A Trash Compactor

Think that you threw something away that should not have gone into the trash compactor? It's important that you do not enter the trash compactor, or even put limbs into the trash compactor to reach an object. Follow instructions for how to remove items from the trash compactor to ensure it is done in a safe way.

Allow Room To Pick Up The Trash Compactor

When the project is done and you are ready to have the trash compactor to be picked up, you'll want to leave plenty of room for the rental company to arrive and load the machine. Keep the area clear near the front of the trash compactor so it can be loaded onto a flatbed truck or some other type of vehicle.

Because it was Sunday, he couldn’t contact professional help until the next day. Thankfully, he was able to fix the problem temporarily. On this blog, you will discover various ways to temporarily solve a sanitation issue while you are waiting for experienced experts to get to your home. Enjoy!
